The Latvian Ethnographic open air museum, one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in Europe, is located on the shores of Lake Jugla, only half an hour drive from the center of Riga. It differs from similar museums thereby that the exposition was already made before the war moved over the country and many objects were well preserved. 118 old buildings from all historical Latvian areas - Kurland, Livonia, Semgallen and Lettgallen - from the end of the 17th century to the second half of the thirties of the 20th century were brought into the museum and put up.
